Mimaki release new UV LED Flatbed direct to object printers: UJF-MkII e Series and the UJF-7151plus II.Mimaki breaks new ground within the Industrial Printing landscape with New Direct-to Object Inkjet Printers.

The brand-new series of UJF-MkII e printers sees the introduction of the UJF-3042MkII e, the UJF-6042MkII e and the UJF-7151plusII to the already extensive Mimaki range of products. The new models offer unprecedented image quality and stability for printing onto an extensive array of soft and hard media, including leather, wood, acrylic, metal and glass.

Let's start with the Mimaki UJF-7151plus II.

This new cutting-edge printer is designed for seamless and reliable high-speed production. It is equipped with eight printheads, which enable dual four-colour (CMYK) ink configurations. This allows for rapid print speeds up to 190% higher compared to the previous UJF-7151plus model. The new system also breaks new records with many features developed to improve image quality, such as the MFD2 (half-toning) processing functionality to offer more control on dot position. This improved control gives sharper edges and finer lines as well as less colour irregularities.

The UJF-7151plus II has a six-colour configuration including light cyan and light magenta which enables more accurate colour reproduction. It and can achieve 1,800dpi image resolution, giving superb definition where a high end finish is needed. Also, the new printer’s innovative Colour Gloss feature adds a glossy finish to hardened colour inks, allowing users to create new textures and details that will make their print products stand out, even without clear varnish.

The Load capacity of the UJF-7151plusII has also been increased to 30kg, making the printer able to handle high quality print jigs and perfect for accurate printing of heavy media, such as wood, metal, and glass.

UJF-7151plusII Features:

  • High productivity and high image quality are realised by installing 8 heads, 2 more than the previous model.
  • The new "Colour Gloss" function achieves a unique expression with a glossy feel.
  • Delivers high-definition printing at up to 1,800 dpi.
  • Supports "MDL (Mimaki Device Language) commands" to automate the printing process.
  • Equipped with reliable Mimaki Core Technologies
  • Supports numbering and variable data insertion printing with new RasterLink7 RIP software.
  • Choice of LH100, LUS120 or LUS350 inks each with 10 colours including white, clear, primer and silver

Let's move on to the UJF-MkII e Series - Two new small format printers adamant on quality, the UJF-3042MkII e and the UJF-6042MkII e.

The new series of UJF-MkII e printers sees the introduction of the UJF-3042MkII e and the UJF-6042MkII e to the already extensive Mimaki range of print products. The two new models provide cutting-edge image quality and reliability for printing onto soft and hard media, including leather, wood, acrylic, metal, and glass.

the UJF-3042MkII e and the UJF-6042MkII e

The UJF-3042MkII e has a print area of 300mm x 420mm, while the UJF-6042MkII e gives a larger print size of 610mm x 420mm. All UJF-MkII e Series printers have new MFD2 processing for excellent image quality as well as an enhanced gap check sensor. This laser sensor detects media placement to prevent printheads from making contact with the material during the printing process. The sensor can even detect transparent materials for superior accuracy and highly controlled media detection. The new printers also provide enhanced usability by adding visual guidance on the 3.45inch full colour display.

Features:

  • New “MFD2 (half-toning)” support for improved image quality
  • Direct printing on substrates up to 153mm thick
  • MBIS bulk ink system with 250ml / 1000ml bottles
  • Full cover protection prevents dust affecting print quality
  • RasterLink7 RIP software enables numbering and variable data insertion printing
  • Choice of LH100 or LUS120 inks, each with 9 colours including white, clear and primer
  • Support for “MDL commands” achieves automation and labour saving
  • Uninterrupted printing through the use of MCT, NCU and NRS technologies
  • The UJF-6042MkII e is capable of printing approximately 52 A4-size sheets per hour

UJF-3042MKII e Ink Configurations:

  • CMYK, White, White
  • CMYK, White, Clear Varnish
  • CMYK, White, Primer
  • CMYK, Clear Varnish, Primer

UJF-6042MKII e Ink Configurations:

  • CMYK, White, White, Clear Varnish, Primer
  • CMYK, Lt Cyan, Lt Magenta, White, Clear Varnish
  • CMYK, Lt Cyan, Lt Magenta, White, Primer
  • CMYK, Lt Cyan, Lt Magenta, White, White

All new models of the UJF printer series feature MDL (Mimaki Device Language) commands support. This enables automated workpiece transfer, allowing users to control the new UJF printers from external production systems and devices. This improved usability increases production and also allows for more automation, decreasing human error.

The new printers also come with RasterLink7 as their standard RIP software which supports one-product at-a-time printing. With this latest software platform, numbering and variable data printing has never been easier, giving users significant time and production advantages.

All new UJF Series UV inks are GREENGUARD GOLD certified and the new range incorporates the proprietary Mimaki Core Technologies functions that enable stable output of high-quality prints.

    Features in more detail:

    Mimaki Advanced Pass System
Mimaki Advance Pass System core technology utilizes an advanced algorithm pattern to reduce banding, giving you confidence that your prints will look spectacular even at higher speeds.

    Mimaki Circulation Technology
Mimaki Circulation Technology keeps ink particles from settling providing an eco-friendly and economical approach to special colour printing.

    Nozzle Check Unit
Mimaki prides itself on the reliability of its printing technology, but as an extra safety net for print providers producing critical work through unattended printing it has developed a series of proprietary functions for added piece of mind. Mimaki’s Nozzle Check Unit (NCU) and Nozzle Recovery System (NRS) are a standard function on many Mimaki printers and printer/cutters that you can switch on or off. The NCU automatically checks nozzles and cleans them if required and the NRS substitutes defective nozzles giving uninterrupted operation.

    Variable Dot Technology
Variable Dot Technology enables the printer to print in 3 different dot sizes (small, medium and large) to create high quality images with smooth gradations. Variable Dot Printing uses smaller drops to produce smoother gradations and bigger drops create uniform solids. By producing dots in three different sizes, smooth high resolution graphics are created without a grainy appearance, even at high speed and in low resolution mode, high quality printing is possible.

    Waveform Control Technology
With standard inkjet technology, drops can be fired irregularly and misshapen. Mimaki’s Waveform Control Technology utilises finely tuned frequencies for each ink’s specific gravity and viscosity to precisely shape and place individual drops, giving you confidence that your images are optimised even at lower resolutions.
