- ▼SIGN Series versus Heavy Duty

For casual use, the SIGN series is likely to be enough and has been a staple for many small to medium-sized Sign makers. The Heavy-Duty equivalent has a more visibly robust build, marginally faster, can reach higher temperatures (on the Heated model) and is better suited for regular operation. The Heavy Duty models are also equipped with a feed table, to make mounting much easier.Both options can also be equipped with Pneumatic Rollers - this automates the pressure control (meaning you won’t have to set it manually using a hand-wound mandrel) using an air compressor.The standard Entry-Level SIGN Series is our most popular product as these tend to be enough for most, but if you’re able to give us an idea of what work you’ll be putting through and how often it’ll be used, we’d be happy to make a recommendation.

Pneumatic Rollers automate the pressure control using an air compressor. Other models utilise a manual hand-wound mandrel, allowing the operator to set the pressure based on force / tension felt on the roll as it's lowered.
- ◄COLD versus HOT Lamination

A Cold laminator would solely use pressure sensitive laminates (essentially a self-adhesive film) to coat materials, whereas the Single Hot Laminators give you the best flexibility with the laminate you can use, and can still be used as a cold unit as well. The main reason people consider the heated option is because it can help with reducing the silvering effect on laminate.If you're using the Laminator alongside a UV Printer, then a Hot / Heated Laminator is a must. UV ink is raised / textured and requires a stronger adhesive provided by UV-specific laminates. A Hot Laminator softens this adhesive and helps it to bond / penetrate the layers of UV ink and reduce air pockets.
ENCAPSULATING (DOUBLE HOT MODELS ONLY) - Encapsulating involves a heat activated thermal film being applied on both sides of the print. The finished result is trimmed to leave a clear border around the edge of the print, therefore encapsulated. The Double Hot Models of Easymount are a perfect solution for any wide format encapsulating requirements.
