APPLICATIONS: Vinyl Signage, Vehicle Graphics, Banners, Posters, Heat Transfer, Window Graphics, Pop-ups, POS, Canvas, Wallcoverings
PROS: Available as an integrated Printer and Vinyl Cutter. Highest vibrancy, highest resolution, highest colour gamut and fastest production speeds (CMYK) compared to alternatives. Great flexibility for vinyl wrapping.
CONS: Solvent ink needs to cure / gas-off, which means it needs to be given time after printing before it is cut / applied / laminated in order to avoid shrinking or curling.
Granthams sell a good range of Roland printer cutters and printers perfect for a range of applications including Roland solvent printers and Roland printer/cutters. There are certain models available for demonstration at our Preston showroom - Please contact us to enquire.
The main difference is the ink configuration.
The Roland SG3 only runs four ink channels and would be configured as four 500ml Ink Pouches containing a classic set of CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black).
The Roland VG3, on the other hand, runs eight channels and can be configured with Dual CMYK or as an 8-colour set-up for higher colour accuracy.
The Dual CMYK configuration would run at close to twice the speed of the SG3 Series, due to the twice as much ink being fired at one given time.
The 8-colour configuration would trade in the speed advantage for a higher colour gamut, which is especially useful for achieving difficult Pantone references for the likes of corporate logos / branding / motocross and vehicle graphics.
The 8-colour options would be:
CMYK, Light Cyan, Light Magenta, Light Black, Orange
CMYK, Light Cyan, Light Magenta, Light Black, White
CMYK, Light Cyan, Light Black, Orange, Green, White
CMYK, Light Cyan, Light Black, Orange, Green
For many Sign Makers, the CMYK configuration is enough, so the choice will depend entirely on your target market and client base.
Need speed and productivity without compromising on image quality?
The new XP-640 and XG-640 deliver the best of both worlds - exceptional print speeds paired with unparalleled TrueVIS colour, vibrancy, and detail so you can handle anything that comes your way.
Available in 8-colour (CMYKLkOrGrRe) and dual CMYK configurations, the TrueVIS XP / XG Series offer the ultimate blend of image quality and productivity, allowing you to print higher-quality output faster than ever before.
In standard mode, the 8-colour configuration allows for the widest colour gamut at speeds of up to 15.2 m2/h on vinyl (7.5 m2/h on the VG3), while the 4-colour setup produces vivid prints at a rapid 22.5 m2/h (12.8 m2/h on the VG3).
